What's the big deal about having someone else do it? Just curious. I mean, I'm sure if I practiced for the next six months, and do a little research, I could figure out how to make my own makeup last all night . . . no?
I mean, is a professional REALLY necessary?
Opinions please! I've been very turned off by recent experiences!
And also, are you doing your own makeup?

Re: POLL So, does EVERYONE use a makeup professional?
I agree with the posters about using someone professional who knows how to work with the cameras and lights. My photographer recommended my make-up artist because she had done shoots with her. She knows how to make up for pictures. It made a huge difference and I think I do a good job with my own make-up.

I do my own makeup very well, but I just didn't want to worry about it the day of and I want to make sure it lasts all day.
Same here. There's a difference between being able to do makeup that looks good in person and makeup that looks good in pictures. I'd rather leave it to a professional. I've read a number of makeup books (just for fun ) but trying to recreate some of the steps myself hasn't always turned out so well. I also don't want to put that kind of stress on myself on a day when I'm sure I'm going to be out of my mind nervous

I do not wear makeup that often, and when I do put it on I am not THAT bad, however, I will not be doing my own make-up for the wedding (E-Party, yes). Actually a good friend of mine is not a professional, but very good with make-up and she will be doing my makeup for the wedding!!
