POLL So FH bought an Eliptical Machine Today...who thinks i will use it?
So FH went to the doctor a few weeks ago, and when he walked in the doctor said 'YOUR FAT' nice right, lol well fh has been on a diet, and he has his excel spreadsheet that calculates what he will weigh each day according to all these calculations.
2 and a half years ago we went to look at elipitcal machines and he decided to buy one of these crazy massage chairs from brookstone that talks to you and the whole nine yards...well he barely used it.
So today he buys an elipitical for us to use.
I hate excercise and thing this thing will end up one day on craigslist for sale, saying barely used!
WHat do you think?

ok I said no only because we have one and I NEVER use it. It makes a great drying rack though. We're actually going to sell it. Anyone want a drying rack/ellipitical?

I said no also because I know I would never use it...I feel like I'm dying five minutes into my workout on an elliptical!

i WISH i had an elliptical!! that is the machine i use at the gym when i go....but you're right...i bet if i had my own i would never use it...lol

Jess seriously what was he thinking?????
He didnt even consult me before he got it.
Im sure he will use it for like a month and then it will collect dust, and be a great clothes dryer!!!!!

yea you know it's bad when the geriatrics at the gym are at a higher level and have been on it for 43 minutes and you're on 7 minutes, level 1 and wheezing.

I love that machine at the gym, but I've been slcking on going, I need to go this week... I think that if you decide that you want to use & set your mind to it you will. I think that if not you won't...

lol it might, does it have cable? But in all seriousness, the machines do work if you stick with it. I have a commitment issue

Yea it hooks up to the cable in the house lol i have a major commitment issue.
How many minutes a day do you think i can get away with?

yeah I think That will help alot, Growing up I had a stairmaster in my room and I did it when I watched tv, I had calfs of steel, there's still soem mussel, but I barely work out now on the regular. I hire trainers, buy sessions & cancel appointments, usually b/.c I get really hungry 3 hrs before & can't work out with eating that close

do what you can do in the beginning, maybe 20 minutes 3 times a week? You can always build up tolerance and do more and be an ellipitical expert!

yea I tried that one, then I buy some and my excuse is I'm poor. It's a vicious cycle.

you will build up a tolerance really quick on the elliptical...when i first started i could barely get through 20 mins...now i can do an hour! it burns tons of calories...just be careful about using the handle bars too much....too much flexion/extension of the forearms can cause neuropathy from the elbow to the pinky finger ...(that is the therapist in me talking...hehe...but...it happened to me and it was not fun)...

That's what I used to use the treadmill in my room for...great for air drying jeans!
