Cocktail party at the Harrison House.
My fiance did not want an EVENT, where you have to get dressed up for. It was a backyard party, we had a tent for heat/rain. Local pizza place catered. Very relaxed an fun. They purpose was def. to have a good time and celebrate our engagement. I think too fancy of an e-party takes away from the wedding.
Casual - It was in my parents backyard with about 80 people. We rented a huge tent, tables and chairs and had it catered. It was simply a perfect day and I would do it all over again exactly the same way.
Great I am glad to see so many make the focal point the couple!
We found that restaurants were almost as expensive as halls. We ended up getting a great deal for an afternoon party at Verdi's in Westbury. It was absolutely great - the food and service were unbelievable. Three months later, people are still telling me how much fun it was. I think it was definitely worth it. Plus (for us), it was like a little rehearsal for the wedding. (Beware - You will not eat!) I've been meaning to post pics, and hopefully I'll have time next week.
We're going to have a casual one at my FH's parents' house. They are moving into a new home within the next few months and can't wait to have our party there!
Our E-party was a surprise. It was a BBQ at someone's house. There was about 70 people there. We had so much fun!
1/2 n 1/2. It was at a really nice restaruant on a Saturday night. We had the whole back room with the closest family memebers (huge families).
