Assuming she's not doing it to make a statement about how she disapproves of the marriage, how do you feel about this?

I think white is the only color that would bother me.
Black definitely wouldn't bother me.

my mom wore black to my wedding and most people wore black - no biggie to me.

I'm totally indifferent to any color. I even suggested to my mom that she could get black if she wanted, but she was appalled!! I told my friends that I dont even mind if they wear white to my wedding, provided the don't also wear a veil w/their dress that day

no problems at all---i wish either my or my DH's grandmother was alive just to be there for our big days---heck i'd be ok with them wearing magenta!

I know back in the day it was a big tabu to wear black to a wedding. But things have changed soooo much over the years, that the whole no wearing black has gone out the window. Nowadays, so many people wear black dresses to weddings because they like how they look in them. And I think black looks classy. As long as your guests feel comfortable in what they're wearing and how they look, then you shouldn't let the color worry you.

I dont care - theyd be talking about her anyway if anyone felt the need - not the biggest priority on my list JMO - grandmas get a free pass i love both dearly.

my grandma is probably wearing a black or blue pants suit. she's not comfortable in dresses and lighter colors.

If she is most comfortable and would feel beautiful in a black dress, I have no problems with it. As long as she is happy.
I do have problems with people wearing white or ivory though. I really believe that only the bride should wear white or ivory.

I don't see anything wrong with it at all. If she was doing it in protest, then I would be upset, but otherwise, let her do as she wishes.
