My darlin' FH already gave me my wedding gift after he came back from St. Thomas in the Fall. He got me a diamond tennis bracelet that I'll wear the day of the wedding. It's stunning.

That said, I HAVE to get him something. I want to give him something that he will truly enjoy and love. I have yet to give him a present besides Sirius Radio that he actually likes. I have a few options and PROS/CONS for each for your review. Please take my poll and tell me what you think I should do.

1. Cigar Roller at Wedding.
PRO: He loves cigars with a passion and he would love it.
CON: Smelly if people light up (it'll be at the end) and most importantly, I won't be able to tell him till the guy comes (cause it has to be a surprise) and then what do I do at the Rehearsal Dinner? Do I mention that I have something for him at the wedding? I feel like he'll guess it. Also, we are having every possible upgrade at our wedding so is it overkill for our guests?

2. A piece of jewelry, specifically diamond cufflinks.
PRO: Beautiful, Can give him at Rehaersal Dinner, Something that LASTS.
CON: He hates jewelery (won't even wear our ring) and I already bought him a TAG watch.

I voted for the sporting event because this is something you can do together - or try for concert tickets if there is a band he wants to see!

I agree about the tv....pc richard has good deals with 0% financing...and you could give him a pic at teh RD of it.....

I woudl normally have voted for cuff links but you say that he isn;t really into the jewelry so it sound sliek he woudl really love teh tv...and its a nice addition to your place, as well!

Ok, we know that jewlery is totally out of the question because it will honestly be a waste of money...He is not going to wear it & it will be another gift that he isn't 'too thrilled' with!

I was originally going to do the cigar roller but Pizz gave me some good insight! If you do that, there is a chance that FH might disappear for sometime to enjoy that!!! Plus you said, the smelly guys & remember, you need to go home with that smell that night!!!

In regards to the plasma, it is a nice gesture but if Frank is anything like Jay, he would be upset I spent so much money on something...Plus I always stand clear of Electronics bc this is FH's 'happy place'

The sporting event is the only option but then again like you said, he works crazy hours & what not...So it will be hard to designate something unless you can buy like 3 Sunday tickets & then he will have to put in for them off!!!

In my case, I am going to wait until we are on the HM & get him something...Right now, I am strapped for $$ but I want him to have something he truly wants, so what is better but to let him pick it out!!!

I can definitely do a Sunday ticket thing because he's off on Sundays....

I just looked it up and HOLY MOLY is it expensive!

I voted for the cufflinks since I like the thought of a wedding gift to be something that lasts forever. He may not wear jewelry often, but it could be a nice heirloom in the future and something tangible he will always have that will remind him of the wedding. All of the other things are items that will come and go, ya know?

I say the TV. First of all not only would he love, so will you. Its something for the house which is always pratical. Yeah you can't afford it all, but even paying half or more of it will be something I say he could really love.
Don't stress yourself over this too much. But my best bet is the TV.

I was going to say TV, but I saw that you are not thrilled about it.

What about a really nice camcorder, or digital camera. Something he might not buy himself.

Or maybe something on the HM, some extravegant tour, that you most likely would not book on your own.

Here is the thing about the TV. Yeah, I am definitely into it. But unless I can pay for it myself, I am not really into it.

I just feel like what if he wants one type of brand and I get the other? And I feel like since I am the poor one in the relationship, he'll end up paying for it in the end. And I wouldn't want that.....

Gotta be honest, that's not my personal number one.... due to what it would take to pay for it.

so then, why don't you do the cigars, but with a twist....

get the cigar roller for the reception, but get Frank some really really really GREAT cigars for his 'private collection' LOL. see if you can get some cubans....shouldn't be too hard..and maybe a really nice cutter and a humidor. you can give him his gift at the RD, and save the cigar roller and PART II, 'surprise' at the reception.

I feel you on the cost of the tv...really I do. I am in the same boat...always feel like I am rowing with one less oar than fh...ya know.

Cigar roller was my vote. Jess has some good ideas to actually give him at the RD, w/ the roller still to be a surprise at the wedding. It would fit into your theme, and it would be HIS moment - the part of the day/reception that is just for him.

Hey Lisa, I popped onto spy on you LOL . Get him the TV. You don't want plasma though. They only come in 42 and bigger. We got a sharp aquios 32 LCD and you know the price. I don't think you need at 42 in the condo.. but if you dooooo.. then get plama but it is MUCH more expensive.
I think the sporting event thing is cute.. Like really good Yankees Tickets.. He would love them. I hate to say it.. but Mike knows some good bookies...LOL... But he goes to Yankee games all the time. Plus you guys don't have a TV yet do you? He won't like cufflinks( I mean that he will hardly wear them) and I don't want my hubby to smoke cigars at the wedding!!!! Plus that is one thing..
Also what about a folding poker set and really nice chips? Then you would have to endure crazy drunk people gambling at your house though???
