we had red velvet cake with cream cheese filling for the squar tierand vanilla cake with cannoli filling for the round tiers

My vote goes to other combination - we recently tried cannoli cream and chocolate mousse filling and it was AMAZING!!! We decided to use those flavors for our wedding cake, because it tasted sooo good!

how bout a combo of one of your options- almond sponge cake w/ choc. mousse filling....yum!!! hazelnut cake w/ choc. mousse is my 2nd choice. You're making me hungry!

I pick Hazelnut Genoise. Hazelnut is my favorite flavor and of course you can't go wrong with chocolate & hazelnut together

I voted for traditional yellow w/ cannoli yum! I was thinking chocolate but decided not to b/c many people don't like chocolate-I may use it for RD cake though. As far as using different flavors for different layers-I have heard this becomes problematic b/c people begin requesting different pieces-wondering why there's is different, and one flavor may run out, etc.-not fun for the wait staff. JMO.

i don't like hazelnut or almond... and many people don't like choc cake,,, so i went with the yellow cake... it's a safe choice

Majority of people are not cannoli eaters, so I would mix it up if you are having cannoli as one of the layers.
