Just curious: newly engaged and wondering if most couples, like in our situation, have to pay for most of the wedding themselves. If it's too nosy aq uestion, you don't have to answer. Thanks!

My family will be paying for the bulk of it. FH's family may contribute one vendor or a lump sum of money towards catering.

My parents gave us a set amount, and anything over that FH and I will pay for. FH's parents are paying for the RD and my boquet.

parents....and FH parents are contributing a large amount as well!!!!!!

My parents are paying for the reception, my attire, lots of odds and ends...FH parents so far have paid for band but fh said they are paying for other things too like photo and video/limo etc...we are paying for the rest so basically all of us with the majority on my parents and I am very thankful because i know we couldnt afford what we want without them

Thats how it stands for now but I was hoping his parents (though divorced) can split either limo, dj, video or something. I just don't know how to go about asking.

We are paying for everything but the photographer. FFIL offered to pay for photos.
