I've been putting premium only since Day 1, but with gas prices so high maybe I'll just put premium every OTHER week

In FH's car, we put the mid-grade one usually, and then occasionally put in premium. Gas prices are through the roof!! We've had to go to Boston a couple of times this summer from MD, and its cost us close to $100 in gas for each trip!

yeah we're driving to MD in FH's new car. I'm just imagining how much it will cost! At the dealership they told us premium is the bets, but he siad waht he does it use premium twice a month, so I was thinking maybe I'll do that

ETA: I honestly don't know the difference b/w gas grades, although a few times I realizedI ahd gotten crappy gas b/c my car wasn't running so well. But I really don't know the point of premium gas, I just use it b/c that's what they tell me

Depending on what kind of car you have & how many miles you have been using premium, you may develop a minor Knock in the engine when you switch gas. It doesn't always happen, but I just wanted to give you a heads up

you might want to mix for a while and then eventually ween it down to regular.

I have a 2001 Chevy prizm with a 4 cyl and I use 87 Unleaded. It costs $21.00 to fill it up from empty. Love that

I remember i used to think i could never afford premium - meanwhile it was less than what regular costs me now! ARGH!

i use regular on my 2004 nissan exterra
it costs me 32.00 every 8 days about

See I don't really know how to know the difference. At the dealershi they told me premium would be the best, although I know for some cars it's a waste

Look in your car manual, and see what is says. Once in awhile mix it up. My manual says 93 octane or higher.

I always use regular though I used to use 89 for a while. But then I was told, unless your car is supposed to have this (ie: in the manual) that you shouldn't. In fact, when SIL got her Honda Civic in 98, she would put the better gas in and the car was giving her all sorts of problems. The dealership said to just use regular and she hasn't had any problem with it since.

I have a VW Bug also and I've always used regular (except for the one time I was overtired and put in premium by mistake) and I have never had a problem with my car.

The dearler never told me to put a specific gas in it when I got it.

When I had a Honda, they told me not tp put anything but Regular in it because the car couldn't handle it.

I have a high performance/high horsepower motor in my truck and I have to put 92/93 and up in it or it won't run. It's the bad part of racing that I have to live with
