What did you put as your ceremony start time on your invitations?
I'm debating because ALL of FH's relatives show up like 15-30 mins late to EVERY wedding they go to and I'd like to prevent it at my own wedding , but MY relatives are always on time and actually show up early - so I'm afraid of putting an earlier time on the invite to trick his family to get them there on time and then have my always ON TIME guests sitting there twiddling their thumbs because they are now way early...
Any suggestions for me on what to do here? I'm planning on finally ordering invites tonight....

It should be 30 minutes before this way you wont have a bunch of late people walking into your wedding

I'm putting the time as 30 min before the sactual start time. I'm latina and I know my side will show up late for sure.

that's what i was thinking too, but when i said that to FH this morning, he said his side of the church will be empty for the ceremony

I put 30 minutes before, just because i know some people will be late, its a friday during rush hour and my ceremony has to start on time! I went to a wedding over the summer and they did this, and by the time the ceremony was about to start everyone was there and they seated us just a few minutes before it started. I thought it worked out perfectly and remembered saying to my fh 'thats what we're going to do!'

I was just debating this myself. I always figured I'd put 30 minutes earlier than the actual time, but then I started thinking about it. i know I always try to get someplace 15-30 minutes before and if other people think like me, that means they will be there even earlier then they need to be! Also, I am having a shuttle bring people to the RH. So those people will be getting there about 30 minutes before anyway. So I'm kind of stuck here. I'm thinking I might just put the actual time. Most of the weddings I've been too lately have put the actual start time of the ceremony anyway. I don't know if that helped or confused you more! lol

I am putting 30 minutes before it is going to start for that very reason, plus almost every wedding I have ever been to started 30 minutes past the time called on the invite

I had a the SAME situation..... We put the actual time (3PM) on the invite (b/c I didn't want an 'off' time on the invite- strange I know ie: 2:45 etc). Also, I plan to arrive NO EARLIER than 3:00 exactcly and hope to stall things to start at 3:05-3:10. That's my way of being strategic.... You have to wait for the bride!!!

we put 30 minutes earlier then start time. With our ceremony room we also received an open bar and appetizers. They will be comforted and fed throughout the day!

My ceremony is at my RH and my cocktail starts at 1:30pm SHARP with the wedding at 1. So, I am going to put 12:30 or 12:45 just to be SURE we start on time. We have no leeway.
I think if your ceremony's at a church with some time before the CH, you don't have to be so concerned with listing an earlier start time.
