So we had our Oheka tasting yesterday. We decided to serve:
Appetizer: Porcini Mushroom and Roasted Tomato Risotto with Shaved Reggiano Cheese with Truffle Oil and Balsamic Reduction
Entrees: Rack of American Lamb, Garlic and Herb Mashed Potatoes, Baby Vegetables and Minted Demi Glace
Apple and Sage Stuffed Chicken Breast, whipped sweet potatoes and calavados brandy sauce
** But we can't decide on the fish. Which one do you think is better:
Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass, Steamed Jasmine Rice and Citrus Fondue
or
Seared Atlantic Salmon with Saffrom Rice and Champagne Truffle Sauce

I just was at a wedding this past Sunday and got the Chilean Seabass - it was scrumptuous! And totally different - I'd go with that.

definitely sea bass...salmon is very common and good but sea bass is delicious!!!

I don't mean to get all political, but Chilean sea bass is overfished (illegally, in most cases) and may become extinct in as little as 5 years. I refuse to order it and most of my friends boycott restaurants that serve it.
It does taste really good, though...

I know...and atlantic salmon is full of mercury. They do have a red snapper in a parchment paper. But it is not one of their typical entrees.

I didn't want to bring that up about the salmon! I hope I didn't come across as preachy. All of your choices (including red snapper, if they will agree to substitute) sound AMAZING, so you can't go wrong either way. And since it is YOUR wedding, I can let my concerns slide this one time...

Soooo.... since twobugs is willing to let it slide this one time -- I also vote for the sea bass mostly because salmon is very typical.

I chose the Sea Bass for our wedding. Not to offend everyone, but salmon has become too common at weddings. Plus it does have a strong fishy taste, and not everone will enjoy it. Not one person who ordered the Sea Bass had any negative thing to say. It was a nice change of choice for them.

Chilean Sea Bass is a great fish. Salmon is tough because people either really love it or really hate it. Your menu sounds yummy!

Sea Bass, by far, is a better fish.. I had the risotto at OHEKA and it was out of this world..good choice!!
