So, I have literally DECADES until I need to set my menu for my November 2012 wedding, but FH and I have a little bet going about our salad course. We disagree on which is the superior salad. Neither of us is TOO worried about who will win, because our banquet manager already told us that he would bring the 'loser' his or her preferred salad even if the guests all eat the other one.
Anyway, I thought I could count on you ladies to set the score! So, which salad would you prefer to have, as a guest? Or, if you were a guest at a CHCC wedding, did they serve one or the other and what did you think of it?
Here's the descriptions:
TROPICAL SALAD: Fresh, crisp dark greens tossed with crumbled gorgonzola, toasted walnuts and cranberries, lightly dressed with balsamic vinaigrette.
TUSCAN SALAD: A truly hearty appetizer with an Italian flair, this duet's mixed greens are topped with roasted peppers, marinated Portobello mushroom, and sliced mozzarella with balsamic vinaigrette.
Vote please! And any feedback on why would be appreciated (We have each have very good reasons about WHY our favorite is better... I hope I win... lol)

i think the tuscan sounds better but i dont like portobello mushrooms so id be picky on both

When we were deciding, FH made a good point before he caved and let me have 'my' salad.
there is going to be so much AMAZING food at the wedding, people are gonna be so stuffed from all the delicious hourderves, and looking forward whatever main course they selected... they'll probably only pick at their salad.
So in the long run, it's gonna be the LEAST important course, and really either choice is going to be delicious.
I'd say if you're still really really stuck, just flip a coin- you can't go wrong either way.

If you don't want to serve a summer salad then simply don't. Remember some guest might even skip this cause they have already had appetizers at the cocktail hour and probably just want to eat the main dish. Go for the salad you want! =)
