OH GOD YES!
i hate that

Or

'Wow, you look good with makeup on and dressed up'

But honestly.. the one I do find amusing and YES i do hear it often is

'I know this dog who looks just like you'
'You look just like this dog a friend of mine owns'
Honest to god.. I do hear that. Usually I just keep my mouth shut and give them a questioning look. They usually apologize really fast and say it was my eyes they were referring too.. I get that, but people need to learn how to say things better!

What a poll!! ROFLMAO .........

OK my favorite REAL compliment is 'you and your mom could be sisters ..'

I know it just means that people think we look alike (which, b/t/w, we don't .. I'm a brunette with hazel eyes and mom is a dirty blond with light green eyes!!!)

And sure, its a great compliment to Mom --

But given the fact she's 30 years older than me, I'm never quite sure how to take it ..

True story....

A teeth compliment/joke is the first dirty reference I ever 'got' (understood).

My father kept talking about this lady he used to date (he was single at the time, still dating) and i quote

'She had the best set of teeth I ever came across' And he's smile meaningfully. It puzzled me.

I was young. Took me a whole day before I confronted my father. 'Dad, did you cum on that lady's teeth?' Of course I asked him this in public. You should have seen his face!! After the inital shock he laughed his butt off and said he had to teach me to 'Not repeat what daddy means when he says things'. hehe First lesson that my father's Sailor ways never will be cleaned from him and also my first lesson in keeping my father's secrets. Not that this was a secret apparently this lady 'got around'.

So I guess nice teeth could be a compliment.

Well ever since then.. anything my father, brother or I say in the presence of eachother is taken for every single meaning you can imagine. You have to be VERY clear on your meaning and context when you say something. Usually only family is victim but Jim has been duly initiated into the family 'game'.

Means we never have a dull dinner.

I picked the feet one because I have something of a foot phobia. just the thought of someone getting close enough to my feet to smell them just FREAKS ME OUT!!
