POll: Which one would you rather get as a favor?

POll: Which one would you rather get as a favor?

Or which one is better, in your opinion. I'm not from LI and haven't had either.

Here are the specs:

Pindar - Long Island Spring Splendor
This light, lovely Blush Wine is fermented with natural American Cranberry. Pale pink in color, tart and yet sweet to taste makes this a avorite with barbecue foods, beef, and fish. Serve it chilled for easy sipping.

-Comes wrapped in a clear bag with bow in color of choice; couple's names and date of event are printed on a sticker/label.

Pugliese - Blush Table Wine (Niagara & Merlot)
The only vineyard to have established the Niagara grape on Long Island. The Pugliese Blush is aromatic, slightly sweet and luscious with fresh grape flavor. The color comes from Merlot and the fragrance and flavor from Niagara. Try the wine chilled with fresh fruit and cheese. The perfect summer sipper.

-Comes wrapped in a clear bag with a bow; couple's names and date of event are hand-painted on the bottle.

Thanks much!

I think the Spring Splendor is very popular. And your wedding is in the spring - the name goes!!!

Thanks...but is it something 'girly' or will guys like it too? I'm referring to the Spring Splendor.

Why would it be girly?
because of the name???
Am i missing something?

Pindar wine is very popular here on Long Island because it is made here. I don't think the name is girly at all. They have a name for each season and everyone knows them. I say go for the Pindar!

I like Pindar, but Pugliese is very good too, so neither can go wrong

What's the first one? Is that a white?

IMO, Pugliese wines are usually better than Pindar. Spring Splendor is rather sweet and in a way which might not appeal to everyone. It tastes a bit like grape juice to me and I happen to enjoy sweeter wines.

It's a blush, like Pugliese but I was told that it's very similar to Welch's juice (by the Pindar rep) and that it's sweet and tart...it's made with cranberries.

I like the hand painted date on the Pugliese bottle though...but I see that Pindar is very well liked...I'll let you know what I decide...keep the opinions coming!

ETA: If you were getting a bottle of wine as a favor, would you care what it was?

I'd go with the Pugiliese. Spring Splendor is too sweet for me.

But a bottle of wine is a great favor!

Spring Splender imo...tastes FABULOUS...It has a big appeal to both red and white wines drinkers..

Sweet yes...but not that much. Summer Blush is VERY SWEET in comparison

Ugh! The confusion continues...

OK, should I look at other wines? Like a nice merlot or pinot grigio from Italy? I know I can get a good bottle for around the same price...or is it more meaningful if I do a LI wine since my guests have probably never tried it?

Thanks again...what would I do without you ladies?

I personally like Pindar. I've been to their vineyard.

I think you should do what is more special to you...
I would do a LI wine...
Spring splender a blush wine is imo quite desireable..It appeals to more people because it is sweeter than a chardoney and a port or merlot..
People usually are one or the other...that is why a blush is a good idea. PLUS more people will know Pindar imo..

The Pindar is really nice, its nice that its called Spring Splendor and you are getting married in the spring. Its also nice that it is bottled on Long Island and thats where you are from and where you're getting married.

Pindar is really good wine too and I know they give asmall discount if you buy in bulk from the winery direct. Or almost all liquor stores give you a discount if you buy wine by the case.
