Okay...so here is my dilemma: I really want a July 4th wedding...first of all, thats the day we had our first kiss...2nd I want to get married by the water and I know we'll probably be able to see fireworks, which I love. At the same time, I'm afraid people will not come to my wedding due to having other plans....So, if you were invited to a wedding on July 4th would you attend?
well whenever you have a wedding on a holiday always expect some not to show bc they go away. If you do 4th of july make sure you send out STD's about a year ahead of time so this way they know not to book a trip. All your close friends and family willmake sure to be there for your wedding. If it was a close friend or family member of mine id make sure not to go anywhere, if its someone im not really close to but was invited for whatever reason well id go if i was around, but if a trip or anything came up i would go on the trip
I would definetly go. You could do so much with that day and I'm sure a wedding would be beautiful on that day especially with all of the fireworks. The STD cards are a must though in case people were planning on going away. You also might be able to find cheaper rates since it's a holiday!
When we first got engaged, I had a 4th of july wedding planned out in my head.... it seemed perfect until my parents said... well what happens if people plan on taking a long weekend vacation.... So then I put myself in the guests shoes and said.... ehhh chances are i prob would be away on vacation, but thats just me... some people dont go away at all for 4th of july, but its especially tough b/c it falls on the weekend.... if you are prepared to have some no's, then i say go with it!!!
i would defiinately go. just send out a std early enough for your guests to plan ahead. i know someone who got married last 4th of july and they had close to 200 ppl there.
I would definately go. It would be a great way to celebrate...it would be awesome if you had a hall where you could see the fireworks! You could also give all the guests sparklers to light when you leave. I'm having a holiday weekend wedding too. I'm getting married on Memorial Day weekend. I plan to send out STD's a year in advance. The people that really matter will be there no matter what...
Thats so sweet. I think I would definitely go. 4th of July there isnt really anything going on so having an affair to attend would be cool!
and also, send out the save the dates a year or two in advance and theres no way theyll plan :)

i would go if i were in town, but i personally wouldnt do a july 4th wedding because a lot of peole go away, or have things that they usually do every year, i know my family got invited to one a few years ago and we hated it because we couldnt do what we usually do on the 4th of july.
My wedding is on a holiday weekend (well MLK day - kinda some people I guess dont consider to be one) I say go for it. There's always going to be people who would rather not go on that day... but honestly any day you pick there will always be someone who feels that way. The one thing I would do is send out very early save the date cards.
I am attending a july 4th wedding next year. The 4th is on a friday, I have off from work and the next day is Saturday so everyone is off. She got a great deal too. I think she really lucked out having the wedding on the 4th. Im sure there will be some kind of fireworks in the area. Its my cousin so of course I am gonna go to the wedding.
I think it would be fun...I can't see close friends and family having an issue with it...because why wouldn't they want to see you get married and if you had a bbq or something that day they would go...I think it is a great idea... don't worry about others do what makes you and FH happy!!!

I would do it, alot people I know have done it. I was going to do mine July 2nd, thursday night because alot of people would have off the next day. I think it'll be fine, plus you send out STDs a year a head of time.
