Hmmm. Liked. Fear can drive people to do mean things to screw you over at any given opportunity. However, if they like you they are more inclined to do something to make your life easier if given the chance.

I would much rather be liked. People that are feared seem to get more respect, but being liked is more important to me.

Definitely liked. Being feared people won't walk all over you but they won't necessarily respect you either. Being afraid of someone doesn't always equate with respect.
