I did this once while we were dating and saw things I did not want to see and it created a HUGE fight and he lsot all his trust in me....took awhile, but we worked through it.

NOW....we check each others' mail when one asks

I always do because he HARDLY ever checks it so I check for anything important & leave the rest for him!

He has missed important info because he didn't check his email in the past

He is welcome to read my email, and vice versa... really there is nothing in there that is SO personal that I'd be worried about. If I was talking about something with a friend I didn't want him to see for whatever reason, or planning a surprise, I'd tell him NOT to look (like I did during the wedding planning stages)

ETA: as a rule, though, we don't take the liberty of looking thru each others email unless the other person is aware of it.. we do the same for regular mail. Its just just a privacy/respect thing.

Well, considering DH is a technical idiot and that I had to set up his email account, I can, but don't. It is ALL fantasy sports anyway. DH can only two finger type and the messages are only about trades and drafts . .BORING.

I never would check DH's email - the only way I would is if he needed me to do something for him and then and only then would I check it and only read what he is looking for. I don't go thru his drawers, his gym or work bags, etc. I am all into privacy in that respect.

We share an account but I won't read it if it is addressed specificallyto him. We don't have any secrets from each other (other than the fact that he knows about my shower and I don't ). In addition to our regular e-mail, we both have aol and work accounts. If it was that personal, hopefully the sender will not send the e-mail to our joint account!

My FH keeps insisting that I do, just so I'm aware that he never gets an e-mail from another female and I know his password, but I feel no need to go reading it.

I have his passwords but I never check his email. We have logged into each other's AOL accounts though to access the internet.

I honestly wouldn't want him to look now (meaning before the wedding) only because I've bought some things for him online. After we're married we'll keep our e-mails separate, unless we need to check each others for some reason.
