I know it's a little too early for Christmas, but I'm thinking of getting one of these for DH. I just don't know which one to get. So what's your opinion? XBox or Playstation, and why?

fh has xbox and its good for him(pretty much all sports games) .. they also have action/fighting games...
I would have prefered playstation cause i think there would have been games we both would have liked to have

well it depends on a serious question... what kind of gameplayer is he? sports man, shooter man, adventure man, or fun play man?

He's definitely a sports man, shooter type. But I wouldn't mind the fun/adventure type things for myself if I can manage to get any play time. Then again, it's HIS gift, so I want to get what's best for him.

well the sports games on xbox are great I suggest xbox personally I would prefer a ps2. but clearly the best system out there is the gamecube
tommy....DH would totally disagree with you...and I think American consumers would as well...gamecube is dead
as for your gift...DH said the best shooter game out there is for X-box (halo?) but there are tons more games on PS2...and DH said the sports games on PS2 are better...
I know that he has Madden football and So-com...and you can play both online with other people...so he plays with his friends... (you need a converter to do this though)

FH loved his XBOX--althouh i noticed they have a lot of the same games for playstation2 and xbox-i am not an expert, but i think HALO is sacred for XBOX--lol I am a HALO widow--not so much anymore--but in the past! LOL Boys and their toys! LOL could be doing worse things, right?

gamecube gets a bad rap... and I have no idea why. the system is twice as powerful as the playstation. all the games have style. and its cheap. playstation is the weakest of all three systems but has an overwhelming amount of games which I can probibly safely say 60% of them are horrible games that you would never buy. xbox on the otherhand is the most powerful system ever and can do alot that other systems cant. as for the games I feel they are a little limited

PS2 has more games, but quality of play goes to Xbox....we're hooked on D & D Heros right now!! FH is a true gamer! His fave system is the New Geo and leans towards first person shooters

Game Cube is NOT dead.....they are coming into their market.....Microsoft is suffering because they aren't making much profit on the Xbox considering what it does. Both systems are great....it's a matter of if you want online play (xbox) and types of games...xbox has the more mature games.
And for the ladies getting into GameCube....try Animal Crossing! Awesome game!!! We are sooo addicted to that.

I would go with PS2 over XBOX and GameCube. I would only recommend gamecube to people with children. GameCube has mostly kids games and alot of animated games.
Between XBOX and PS2, I would go with the PS2 hands down. It is a better machine....and it has more games.....

Most certainly i would choose PS2.. Of course loading time is much quicker on the X box because it has an internal harddrive.. However the gaming selection is MUCH better for PS2. Gamecube, which I have never played, is now down to only 99.00 .
