Last night I was lying in bed on LIW when my puppy comes over holding something in his mouth.
It was a turd!!!! He plopped it right by my leg and looks at me like he did a great thing.
Is he trying to tell me something???
One saturday morning, he came and dropped a poop right on FH's bare chest!!!!
LOL How do I stop this?????

O M G it's not funny, but it is lol.
I wish I could help you on how to get him out of that habit but i don't own a dog and don't know the first thing about training them not to do something like that.
EDIT: Just did a google search. Read this an hopefully it will help
that is funny! so heres the question, is it the puppys poop, or another animals, poop? I have two dogs and they used to get into my cats litter box and pull the poop out! So I moved the litter box onto a higher platform so the dogs cant get in it any more, no more poop surprises!

The puppy goes on the wee wee pad. And he's very good with that...he just likes to pick it up if FH and I don't see it and clean it right away!!!
It's driving me insane!!!! So grosssss

I really do think he thinks he's bringing me a present because he likes to eat his poop too. It's like saying 'Hey, I saved you the best part!'
His name is Goober and he's a cocker poodle mix. Goober is a fitting name!
LOL! i think that is what he is doing. but pups do eat their own poop. I would stop with the wee wee pads and try taking him outside every hour when u r home, and when u see him eating/carrying his poop scold him. Its the only why he will stop. Rocky gets grounded and put in his 'room' (which was our room until he ate the bed and the door and the moldings, and he ate thru a wall in the other room when he was 3 months! ) soooo needless to say my dog has serious seperation anxeity....but that runs in his breed!

Re: Poop attack
the eating poop portion is actually a really common problem. there's a lot of literature on the web and they teach you how to stop it.
my dog used to do that when she was a puppy, but eventually she stopped.

WOW! And I thought my dogs were bad for tearing the garbage apart. At least my furniture and walls are still intact!
ITA that the only way to stop this is to either attend to the wee-wee pad right away or to have the dog start going outside. He's adorable by the way!

Re: Poop attack
Oh I am so sorry your pup is doing this!!!
I had a maltese that liked to eat his poop....thankfully he only did it a few times. My maltese now won't poop in the house (what a blessing!) - so maybe you can get him trained to do that. What we did with my dog was have the wee wee pad by the back door at night for accidents, and he goes for 2 or 3 walks a day, and he gets let out in the back yard like every hour. Maybe that will help curb the poop in the house so he won't bring it to you?

They have something that you can give your dog so that they won't eat their poop. You can ask your vet about it! Or maybe the pet store sells it.

Ugh, I have read tons about it and my pom does it too. But he's a closet poo eater and knows its wrong but can't resist the fudgy deliciousness I guess.
I have tried pineapple in their food (makes my pom throw up), booby trapping their poo with hot sauce ( they flip it over!!!), and even buying SEP- stop eating poo. Nothing works. We have to just be very vigilant and on poo patrol but when we are at work, they use the wee wee pad...
I feel that my puppy learned it from my pom because he didn't eat his poop when he was very young! He is 8 and half months now so I'm prayinggg he'll grow out of it!

Re: Poop attack
TY! He is alot to handle, and he is REALLY hyper, but thats b/c i don't have the time to run him ne more b/c i work full time now. But i am gonna start training him to pull in the summer (he comes from a line of show dogs and he is smart as ne thing) But he is soooo sweet. I hate when ppl talk bad about pits b/c they really r sweet and lovable, and it really is the owner not the dog, that makes them mean!

I completely agree. I volunteered at north shore animal league all throughout h.s and they had SO many sweet pits. They are strong (you could feel the thwak, thwak, thwak, of their tail wagging against your legs, but they are really gentle when raised correctly.
I loved cesar milan's pit, Daddy. The poster child of a good pit. R.I.P daddy!!
