I was looking online at houses in that area. Does anyone know if it's a nice area and what the schools are like?

Re: Port jefferson station
I'm from Port Jeff (not station).
There are some VERY nice areas of Port Jeff Station. There are also some NOT nice areas (you would most likely not want to purchase any house within walking distance of the actual train station. Do you have a street you are looking at? I know the area pretty well - feel free to FM me.

Feel free to FM me with any questions.
I live in Port Jeff Station and I've lived here for my whole life. The schools here are good but like someone else said...
DEFINITELY stay away from anything near the train tracks or behind the bowling alley.
Which area are you looking in?
Look in my area...I live in the nice one! ha ha sorry had to be snooty

I'm also from the area. Most of it is nice.
The schools in the area are Comeswogue and Mt. Sinai. Both are very good schools
Most people that live in PJS goto Comeswogue, but there are a few areas that goto Mt. Sinai as well.

I grew up in Port Jeff Station, and I'm a Comsewogue grad. (Oboe and Jenn, did I go to high school with you? I graduated in '98).
The school system (Comsewogue) has a good reputation. So do Port Jefferson, Three Village, Mt. Sinai, and Sachem.

I work in Port Jeff and drive through Port Jeff Station. You definately pick up quick which areas are nice but there are definately nice and cute neighborhoods. My friend live almost right off of 347 and I love her block. The traffic on 347 and 112 drive me crazy though!

Do you still live there? My parens do, but I moved out a few years ago when I got a job in Queens.
There were a bunch of girls at my bus stop, but I don't remember who played the oboe... post a pic!!!!
