Possible 1st dress appt..

Last night I was at an event and Davids Bridal set me up for an appt on Oct 22nd. With my wedding being 2 yrs away im def not ready to seriously start looking for a dress or make any purchases. I told the girl this and she said oh its never to early to start looking. I know they're hoping you'll fall in love and buy something lol. So now im thinking if Ill cancel the appt or keep it and just go play dress up. Hmmmmmm.... lol

Just go, I was looking for dresses (online mainly) for about a year or 2 before I was engaged.
Take note of styles you try on, like or not, and then it will make the process easier when you are ready to buy.

I wasn't ready till probably last month to even start thinking about dresses. I made an appointment at the expo but for the middle of november (and I am getting married in March). It is never to early to start looking but if your not ready I would say not to go. And if you do go and know you don't want to buy make sure you stick to it. When I fall in love with something I always want to buy it which is another reason I wanted to wait.

I know for sure I wont buy anythig bcuz holidys and a RH payment is right around the corner. Plus I want to loose weight 1st. But thats what im afraid of. Falling in love with a dress that I know Im not going to buy yet. Ive been on their site and theres 2 or 3 dresses that I LOVE so what if I try it and love it even more??? Of course the opposite can happen and I totally hate it when I put it on but who knows..

Just want ever you do DONT let them push you around ..thats what the did to my friend and they pushed her away ...so sad

Jassy, that's why I told that David's Bridal woman I wasn't ready. But guess what? I think I'm in love with that dress I saw at the Fashion Show. I stalked it out to a place in Manhattan and I was going to just go and try it on to see if I liked it and keep it in the back of my mind for when I'm ready to start shopping for real.

I'd say that if you have a particular dress in mind, go for it. If not, I'd wait. Only because so many things might change between now and then... styles, etc. What if you try on a Fall 2011 dress now that you fall in love with and it's not available next Spring?

PS - It was SO nice meeting you and your FH. Sorry I was so chatty, lol. You guys are adorable :).

Aww thank you! It was sooo nice meeting you to! You wasn't the only chatty 1 so please don't apologize. We probably could have stood there all night talking lol.

I just looked at the dress online. So pretty! I'm so mad I wasn't paying attn at that particular segment so I knew what dresses I was looking at lol..

There are 2 or 3 dresses in David's Bridal that I really LOVE and I would love to try them on but what you said is exactly what I'm afraid of. What if I fall in love, then its not available later on and that ends up being the dress I can't get out of my mind?? But the other part of me wants to play dress up and knows there are TONS of dresses out there. I have a list of others 1s from other sites. Decisions, decisions! Good think I have over a month to think about it lol

No prob .. I just don't like pushy people and when u r looking for your wedding dress thats should be the last thing they should do

I got the dress itch a few months ago too- and now I'm over it lol

I think it's good to go, see what you like, and LEAVE!!

I know that I want to lose 50 lbs., then go back, but don't be impulsive- we do have 2 more years of new dresses to look at!!

Defintely not going to be impulsive if I do go.I told the girl I wasn't ready to buy with my wedding being so far away but she insisted I make an appt anyways. I know I defintely won't buy anything.. if I do go to the appt it will be for just dress up only.

i decided I'm done waiting...so I'm going next saturday to davids bridal for my first dress appt!!! ahhhhh
