POST OFFICE

POST OFFICE

FYI --- I just sent my invites out on Friday. When I went to the post office (in Hoboken) the woman I dealt with was SO nice. I asked her about hand canceling so they wouldnt get messed up .. her words ..

'Im sorry but you shouldn't even do the hand canceling. To be honest, whether you hand cancel or not they are all still run through the machine'

I appreciated her honesty and I decided to listen to her and not do it ...

Just wanted you girls to know that Im not sure if hand canceling is even worth it?

Re: POST OFFICE

I agree, the woman said the same thing at Seaford post office. My mother hand cancelled them anyways, but they were still ran through the machine.

I agree as well, and they put a lovely black line through the lovely cake and ring stamps, but can't get too hung up on that

Re: POST OFFICE

I believe my invites really were hand cancelled...I saw the envelope at my parents house, and it really didn't have any black lines on it.

I mailed my invites from over 4 post offices, and they all hand cancelled them no problem!! I can't vouch for the rest of the invites, but I mailed my parents from Farmingdale, and it look great!

I used Farmingdale, Hicksville, Old Bethpage, and Massapequa....all gave me no issue and were really nice!

Re: POST OFFICE

I just had a post about this last night! One of my invites was completely destroyed because they hand cancelled and then put it through a sorting machine! The invite was actually someone I work with and she brought it in today to show me, it looks like it was put through a lawn mower! I would still have them hand cancel though, this way, its only put through one machine rather than 2! Good luck!
