Post Wedding Day Brunch
I was wondering if the day after your wedding are you planning to have a brunch? If so who is 'supposed' to pay for it? And is it neccessary seeing that 50% of our guest list is OOT?

Nah.
My FI's parents are hosting one at the hotel. We will all be staying there with numerous OOT guests.
My fiance's parents are hosting one at the hotel the day after the wedding.
My fiance and I are hosting a post wedding day brunch at the Marriott in Melville (where our oot guests are staying). Both sets of parents are paying for the wedding (mine a little bit more but his parents are being very generous). Considering that the brunch is not a necessity (in our opinion), FH and I decided that we couldn't ask the parents to pay, since they are already spending so much $$ on the wedding. The pricing we got from Marriott is actually very reasonable. Another option you may want to look at is paying for hotel breakfast vouchers for your out of town guests and placing them in their welcome bags. This may help to keep costs down, as you won't have to worry about room rental and other costs that are associated with a private function. For the brunch, we are extending invitations to out of town guests but also bridal party, local relatives and close family friends. It's a nice extra if you are comfortable covering the cost but I don't think it's a necessity. I hope this helps, feel free to FM me if you'd like!
A lot of times the groom's family covers this. My mom was planning to host this, but since my wedding is a Sunday, we won't. If we have some OOT guests who are staying over and taking off on Monday, maybe we'll do something informal.
plan was my dad was going to lay it out since we were tapped out w the wedding and my parents already gave more than enough!! But the AM of the brunch my in laws decided to pay for it as a gift
My Wedding is on a Sunday as well so we are not doing anything Formal.
