Post Wedding Fallout

Post Wedding Fallout

Is anyone else experiencing post wedding fallout? I'm not talking about anti-climatic stuff, but just frustration and disappointment either with family or a vendor? Going through this and not exactly sure how to handle it.

I think its to be expected if your expectations are too high, or if by nature you're just a demanding person. I'm not saying YOU specifically, but in my experience, I've known girls where NOTHING would have pleased them or made them happy. If it was sunny and 70 on their day they'd be pissed it wasn't sunny and 80, KWIM. Sometimes expectations are so high no one can measure up. But if someone truly did not DELIVER said service, I'd be upset.

I am sorry you feel this way at all.

Oh no, I had THE most perfect day and my venue, officiant, makeup and hair people really came through. So did the musicians.

I'm bummed because my CP were nothing like what was contracted or discussed - still waiting for an explanation, photographer missed vital shots (ex: me & my parents) and my immediate family was incredibly disappointing. I can't even begin to write what my father said to my husband before our wedding. Let's just say he would NOT have walked me down the aisle.

I'm trying to see all the positives, like my guests didn't notice a thing and I'm happily married. Thanks.

Hey...so when I noticed that you were married in Roslyn on 4/26, I just want to ask - were you married at the Swan Club in the afternoon? If so, I was there booking it with FH for next year, and I saw your bridesmaids and LOVED your color theme!

I'm so sorry you're going through this Val. I think you are definitely owed an explanation on the flowers, that's just unacceptable. That is why my mom and I are going to our florist the day before early morning to make sure all the flowers came out ok, especially because the bouquets seemed hard for them to grasp, so I want to make sure they are ok. I'm so, SO sorry about your dad. I have someone like that in my life, and I can truly relate to how difficult it is when someone does something like that. Truly heartbreaking. Please FM me if you want to talk. Everything will be ok in the end, you're so lucky to have had such a gorgeous day overall!!! Mother nature loves you and your DH!!!!

Thanks, yes that was us in the Garden Room! I do remember some people coming by in regular street clothes, which I had time to introduce myself. As I mentioned before, the Swan Club was great.
And congratulations on your engagement Kris_gets_hitched!

Yeah they did an amazing job with the BM's bouquet's, exactly what I wanted and what we discussed. They were blue/purple California wild flowers with hot pink touches from a few peonies. They went well with the girl's dresses.

The CPs were to be the same but with light pink peonies. BUT they weren't, so I was big time bummed, I didnt' get to see anything until right before my ceremony when we to rehearse. I couldn't see leaving my husband at the altar because I was on the phone with the florists. I told the bridal attendant but clearly my displeasure were not forwarded.

Re: Post Wedding Fallout

Going to see the flowers the day off is a great idea. I wish someone had mentioned that to me. I hated getting the message that the florist arrived as I was getting my hair and makeup done. It drove me crazy not to jump out of the chair to go see. Now I know why! ;-P

I guess I'm just ultra bummed because this was to be my easiest vendor. Plus he is the sweetest guy and I thought he really got what I was looking for. Through the process we did have some communication issues but I thought that had been put in the past. I don't even want to include them in my write up because I can't give them a great grade. I wanted to give them an 'A'.

Well that is a totally different scenario and I can't believe the way your family acted. That is atrocious. What a way to put a damper on such a beautiful day And what stinks is that you'll always remember that more than anything else, even the flowers. The flowers will fade but the words will last. As far as the flowers go, I'd be so bummed too. I went into this not even caring about flowers that has actually become my biggest priority.

Try to focus on your newlywedded bliss and not think about those other issues. After some time has passed it may not seem so upsetting (well, maybe not the family part cause thats different).

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling down You must be feeling disappointed. Does your dad know that you're upset with him. It might help if you talked to him about how you're feeling.

Sending you good thoughts!!!!

I'm in the exact same boat as you (beautiful day, mostly great vendors except with the flowers and photog). Except it was DH's grandfather that was inappropriate. I've really been feeling this way since the morning after the wedding. I didn't even get to enjoy myself. When people ask about teh wedding I try to pretend like it was the happiest day ever, but it really wasn't. I'm glad I'm not the only one!

FM me if you want to have a b!tching session!
