(sorry in advance, its a long story)
FH ordered it online from Zales... He knew it was my dream ring.. but when it came and he gave it to me, the diamond quality was horrible.. black spots, gray clouds, the cut was terrible and it didn't reflect well, but it was still a gorgeous setting and was expensive.. it still shined a lil cause of the pave diamonds on the sides but I was embarassed for anyone to get close up to it... I fought with Zales cust service for 3 months trrying to get them to change out the diamond, which they wouldnt do, or let me see another one of the same ring, since they are mass produced usually. but there were only 2 other in the country like this one and they wouldnt tell me where or bring them in for me unless I bought them.. We couldn't afford to buy a new diamond for it, and the one in the setting was worthless... Considered taking them to small claims court but they told me they would 'bury me in paperwork and that I would lose'.. Finally, closing in our 100 day refund period, FH and I decided it would be best to rid ourselves of it cause we were so angry, we'd been to the store a milion times too and they tried, but zales corporate wouldnt hhelp them out either.. I consulted all the girls on here and they reaffirmed they'd do the same thing... So we returned it and looked for something similar, but I wanted it fast so didn't look around much.. I let FH pick out the setting and we got a good quality diamond, and the jeweler said we can upgrade the ring in the future and get the money we paid for this applied to a new ring ... I do love this one, but still miss my old one, so I plan on upgrading in a few years, and I think I'll have the exact settting made up by the jeweler.. Here was the original ring, and in a few years maybe I'll have it back, sort of, lol

oh no, I am so sorry you had to go through that. I think you definitely made the right decision. At the end of the day, you are so much better off having a better quality diamond. You can always get another setting made!!! Besides I think your ring now is so nice and much more unique than your other one, that was gorgeous too but honestly I like your new one more!

I am glad it worked out for you though because you would have been so unhappy keeping the poorer quality stone!

Re: Post your Engagement ring....

Thanks, its an opal. I know theyre soft and not recommended for an E-ring but I love them so much so I'm doing my best to be careful!
