I have a USPS postage meter in my office. Can I weigh my invites here or do you think I should go to the post office and have it done?

I did both, this way I was 100% certain on how much postage.

so did i - the last time for my stds i just did it at work and they were .37. i mailed them and they all came back for extra postage because they were an 'odd' shape. yeah - small squares instead of rectangular grrr...

Same here, my office has a Pitney Bowes Meter too! I am weighing it here. Then I will go to the post office and mail it.

i would bring it to the post office just to be sure. they'll be able to tell you if it meets other postal regulations for size, not just weight

I agree, you should bring it to the post office to be sure. I had weighed mine at my office also and it turned out I need more postage due to the size/shape of my invite.
