Postage for wedding invitations>?

Postage for wedding invitations>?

I'm looking to order some cute stamps from zazzle but I have no idea how much postage I need.
For those of you that mailed out your invites already, what did you do? Did you take one complete invitation and bring it to the PO to be weighed?
For the response envelopes, do I just use forever stamps or are they less postage since its a small envelope?

I have a 5.25 x 5.25 invite with inner and outer envelopes. A response, reception card with response envelope and three additional inserts.

I would bring one to the post office. More than likely you will need the 66 cent stamps, but with the square envelopes I would get it weighed to make sure. Response cards are good with the forever stamps, there's no smaller postage I'm aware of unless its a postcard with no envelope. HTH!

Thanks so much for your help! I was thinking .66 too but I will bring them to get weighed just to be sure.

I brought mine to be weighed this weekend. The post office sells cute wedding sets - I got a wedding cake 66 cent, with a white rose forever stamp for the RSVP. They also have another pattern that says 'Yes I Do' in a flower design. Check those out first, because I've heard custom stamps have a huge markup.

Once you know the amount of postage it will be, you can actually go on usps.com and look at all their stamps online. They have a bunch of pretty ones, wedding theme, love theme, and its the same price as at the post office (just plus some shipping) but they carry more types than the post offices themselves. Check it out!

I went with the roses and wedding cakes. They're pretty and I'm not sure if people even pay attention to the stamps anyway LOL.

I know! LOL. You are right. These are things that I would notice though so to me, the little details are the most fun! LOL.

We just went to the post office and got their wedding stamps. We got matching ones for the outer envelope and the response card. Ours had flowers that said I DO

Definitely went to the post office with an invitation mail-ready. I was actually at the post office a couple weeks ago, and there was girl that didnt do that, and her invitations didnt fit through the machine!! Always better to double check!
