Postage....Grrrr....

Postage....Grrrr....

My invites are going to cost 97 cents each to mail...

Anyone else have this postage rate? (I know Shorty McBride does) How are you stamping it? The least amount of stamps I would need would be 3 a 90 cent stamp, a 5 cent stamp and a 2 cent stamp. The 90 cent one is actually nice- there's one with palm trees and a sunset, but the others are UGLY!

My other option is to run them through the postage machine at my aunt's house and give her the money- but then I have the large red postage mark on it.

Which one would you do?

Yes it is - It is not the prettiest but IMO who really looks at the stamp on the invitation.

I would use the $1.00 ones.... they might not be the best looking but im sure no one will be looking at the stamp... its whats inside that counts

I have to do the same -- and my post office suggested that when the wededing stamps come out next week (they are hearts) to use both a .41 and a .58 -- then you'll have the right amount and they will still look good with the 2 hearts

isn't is so frustrating? my invites are the right weight and size of a .58 cent stamp but a little too thick so they are going to cost .97 also

I totally agree - we all stress over he stamps and then I got to thinking do I remember what stamps were on the last wedding invite I got? Nope! I barely even remember the invite

On another thread someone mentioned zazzle.com - you can custom make your own postage stamps! You upload your own images

Yes, but they cost extra (I think $4-$5 more per 20 stamps)- and I can't afford ANYTHING extra at this point

I totally understand that feeling! I wouldn't stress too much over the stamp, people won't really remember it. I would just use the $1 stamp - the red metered postage looks too much like commercial mail for me.

BTW - i love the leaf napkin rings in your album - where did you find them??

I agree. I never gave stamps a thought before this site.
To be honest, I've gotten a lot of invitations in the mail over the years and I can't recall what stamps where on them. As soon as I opened the invite, the envelope went in the garbage.
