Am I the only one who finds the idea of semi-nude engagment photos a little odd? There is a thread about it on BHB . They have examples on it on the photographers website. And even though they are beautiful, tasteful pictures, it still strikes me as strange....
I know I'm a pretty modest person, but am I a total prude too?!?
I woudln't have the guts, maybe thats why!
Just curious as to other peoples reactions.

Trust me when I say, 'I'm far from a prude', but yes, semi-nude engagement photos seem strange to me too. I think I know what photo you are talking about.

as an engagement photo, yes it is wierd...but I would do it as a gift for my husband for his birthday or an anniversary....

I wouldnt do it for public pictures thats for sure. Even if they are tastefully done, Its a great shot for couples to have for themselves only. IMO

I personally wouldn't do it for my engagement photos, but I would def. do it as a gift to my fh.

I think I would break the camera lense. Not for an engagement shoot, would you honestly feel comfortable showing them to your family members??

On the BHB board the thread is Patken girls..i think some girls posted the link to Patken's website.
I have seen the semi nude pictures patken takes, and they are tasteful. One picture in particular i remember was a couple laying in a bed on satin sheets and the picture was taken from above, the only skin you could see what some shoulders, arm and leg...and it was in black and white..
I would do the pregnancy semi nude though..or the engagement as a gift, not as the official engagement pic though JMO though...

I don't think it's wrong, per se. To each his/her own, but I just don't think it's appropriate. It's like having the photographer take pics on your wedding night...

guys- I'm pretty sure thats a pic of Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro. It's not on their photographer's website (not Patken), looks an awful lot like them (dave and Carmen), and the guy has the same tattoos as Dave Navarro. JMO.

The pictures are tasteful, and very nice, but I think what's throwing me off is calling them 'engagement pictures'. Shelly look at the photographers website, those are the pics were talking about. Nothing wrong with this by any means, but not for me. Just curious what other peoples reaction to it was, and but if I posted there I'd get creamed! I knew I could ask my safe, sane 04 girls!

I didnt answer to the thread Cause I was told not to answer to threads like that. IMO I wouldnt do it. I dont have the body. Even though My FH has seen me naked and we have 'done it' Im kinda old fashioned in a sense and so is my family. I wouldnt take pics of me and my FH naked especially before we were married. Totally My opinion. To each their own. Now The pregnancy shots are beautiful. And if I had the bod id do it as a gift for my FH.

i must have missed the pic you are talking about. Which photographer has these listed under 'engagement photos'. I have seen some under 'glamour shots' but that is different.

I didn't respond to that post either, only because of being slammed. IMO semi-nude pictures for an engagement photo is not the way to go for me. I don't need my parents and grandparents and all other older relatives having a heart attack. I would do that privately just for me and my fi.

lol...i think they are a good idea, but I defintely wouldn't call them engagement pictures. I don't care for the way Patken does it but I would defintely do it.
