Posting this may help me feel better....

I wasn't gunna post this, but I am just so sad!
My parents are away on a well deserved cruise vacation. They left before the storm on Saturday... I get a call Sunday morning from my Brother who was informed by my parent's neighbors that a tree had fallen and crushed my Dads truck and a small part of the house is damaged. I can't even post the pic of what happened because it is just awful! My Dad loved that truck and now it is totaled... My parents are the most amazing two people I know and I hate that they have to deal with this and fix the house before the wedding, which is SOON! My brother and I started clean-up and the insurance process, but it still just s*cks! I am so upset about it and I have never missed my parents as much as I do right now. (I am also PMSing, which doesn't help) ... Of course it can always be worse and thank God all of the people are okay, but I'm sure you understand...

I was just thinking, thank goodness they were on vacation and not in harm's way! Sorry you're stressed though

I'm so sorry... that's really stressful. However, the fact that part of their home was crushed means it's probably a blessing that they were on vacation!!

My neighbors have an entire tree in their master bedroom and they had decided to sleep downstairs just in case. Could you imagine?!

Ahhh! Thank God they slept downstairs!...
Yeah, my Brother made a good point yesterday... He said, 'knowing Dad, he would have seen the tree swaying and went out to move the car...' Its so eerie too because my parent's were NOT AT ALL hesitant about going on their trip... They were like, 'Nope, we don't care, the hurricane isn't stopping us form going on our vacation...' Blessing in disguise...

That sucks, though, that this is what they have to return to.

Aww that really does suck. But def is great blessing that they weren't home and no one was hurt! Your parents seem to have a great attitude so I'm sure everything will be ok. Nice of you and your brother to start taking care of things while they are away.

Agreed...I am sure they are going to appreciate you both taking the time to start cleaning up and getting the insurance process started. One less thing they have to worry about and one step closer to getting things back to normal!!!
