You ain't kidding!

I just found out a co-worker's friend has her 3 month old in daycare and pays about $300 a week for daycare! That's like half what I make!

Well, you have to have the patience of a saint. There's 2 things I won't deal with: brides to be (too unstable - and I know, because I was one and I was terrible!) and small, defenseless children...way too much to deal with!

ETA: I'll babysit, but as my daily job...no way. How do you deal with a teething 6 month old...X5!

I feel bad theat we're hijacking this 'quality' thread here

anyhoooooooo....

Incidentally, i was looking at child care prices, and if we end up staying on LI, i think that (if we had a houe)... i would actually consider getting a Nanny. Crazy as it is- its actually Cheaper that way, And they cover more hours as well, and end to do stuff around the house too

Yeah, I was about to write about 'hijacking' and then I realized that the original poster... I'm sure they're both ecstatic and regretting the fact that they didn't use their real name

My friend has a live in Nanny (she lives in a Co-Op in Brooklyn though) and it is cheap...like $250 a week and she cooks for her and the hubby, the baby speaks fluent Russian and the house is clean. Plus no waking up early to drop off baby anywhere.

Just make sure the Nanny is old/fat/smelly...no Jude Law behavior!

I don't think it's fair to jump on confused1234 for asking this question - sometimes it does seem, a general post by one person gets more response than from another. But, I don't think it's intentional - it's probably just based on our moods or who's on the boards at that time.

couldn't have said it better myself!
