posture in the swing

Sophie has taken to sleeping an hour to an hour and a half sometimes in her swing. Is this bad for her back? She seems to sleep better there than anyplace where she is laying down flat....

She is frequently congested, and I am beginning to think this upright position is more comfy for her. But I am worried that it's not that great of a position for a 2 month old baby.

I let her sleep wherever she is! She & I both need our rest ... so there's no point moving her & waking her up!

As far as the congestion is concerned ... I give her a drop of nasal saline in each nostril & that seems to help her sneeze some of the lovelies out. Or I use that suction thingy. I can't stand the sound of her breathing when she's like that. It makes me so nervous!!

i love those little nasal drops! they do work like a charm....

Jenny, Im sure its fine. Swings are made 'comfy' even for really little ones now.. JA was in it from the very start too.
Even though they look a little slouched in them, think about how she was in your belly Im sure she's comfy, she wouldnt sleep if she wasnt comfy

Jenny - does your swing recline? That helps a bit, I think.

Don't worry about posture! You should ask Michele to post the picture she took of Paul when he was just 7 or 8 weeks old...in the swing....his little head tilted to one side SO completely that his neck was at a 90 degree angle They are so flexible, these little one!

Molly naps in her swing everday with no problems. I also love the saline drops.

When Patrick was congested when he was a baby. They suggested I let him sleep in the car seat at night. It helps the breathing. (so the swing should be fine.)

If you don't like the way the baby is positioned. Why not get those headrest & just position her that way?
