pot-luck shower?

Maybe it's because the bridal party can't afford to give a shower? These things can get kind of expensive.

I feel kind of bad for my bridal party because a lot of times the bride's mother pays (or contributes a lot towards it). My mother passed and I don't have any sisters so it kind of stinks for my bridal party.

never thought of that! i would actually prefer a backyard type shower with catered food at least... im sure its much cheaper than a sit-down restaurant! there are alternatives to pot-luck!

I think its okay to have a sort of pot-luck shower - like without catering - where family cooks and stuff - but not to tell people they have to bring something - that is just insane to me!

i did think of the money factor. i have to say though, we cooked for our e-party instead of catering, but WE cooked. everybody (family) cooked a little something a little bit at a time and stowed it in the freezer so we wouldn't have to ask guests to supply food, and it looks like, alcohol (wine) too.

I've never heard of that. It sounds like someone got lazy and didn't want to spend money. It's such a big inconvenience to the guests! I'm sorry.

OMG I had one of these and I have the most AMAZING appetizer for you..
It sounds weird but PLEASE try it this weekend and you will see im not crazy!!)
ps-its super cheap and easy

Buy bacon or turkey bacon
stella dora bread sticks

Hres what you do:

Dip each off the bacon into brown powered sugar
Then roll it from the top to the bottom of the breadstick

Place in the oven...
and viola
When you get there you can always ask to just heat them up so their crunchy!

A appetizer they would think you spent CRAZZY bucks for!!

My friends dad owns a place in LI and he taught me... He said thats his BIGGEST hit when catering and its so cheap!!
