Power outage in your neighbourhood??

Oh dear. My mom just called and said the power is out in the entire Five Towns Area. I called FH and his power is out in Lybrook also.

Be careful, drink lots of water girls!!!

Yup we had a power outage here in the Rockaways and also Inwood- also 5 towns also had the power outage- was for about 25 minutes but some areas now have power and some are still waiting.

The A isn't running?

at 1:30 until about 3 the train was out.. .

i am NOT sure about right now.

i kno there was a black out on the train and many ppl were trapped.

My power was out on Sat. morning from like 10 to 11 I think. I was soooo worried it was another blackout, I called my mom (who lives 30 mins from me) and said 'pleassssse tell me you have power!!' If she didn't I would have gotten worried. I mean, that was just the beginning of the whole heatwave! I went to a store nearby and everything was fine, and when I got back, it was back on. I think it went out on Saturday night for a bit too - I was out but when I got home, my alarm clock was blinking 1:51, so I guess it had come on 1 hr 51 mins prior

I am surprised we didn't have more outages - with the way the heat came so fast and sooooo strongly, people probably turned on their ACs all at once, and on high ... talk about overoading the system!

oh no that S*CKS i am so sorry. In 2006 there was a power outage in astoria for 9 days during a heatwave and that was horrible. You would think that after so many times of this happening they would fix the problems but they don't.

Hopefully it comes back on soon, ive been worried about this

ugh, don't remind me. DH and I try to forget but honestly, everytime since then that the weather gets as hot as it's been the past few days, we get so scared it's going to be like that again. That was AWFUL, we were miserable.

oh god it was so horrible, we were lucky and didnt deal with it for the whole 9 days bc we left on a cruise after a few short days, when we were on the cruise and heard that after a week it was still out we were shocked. It was funny bc we even waited on a street corner for ice. DH stayed by me at night so it wasnt as bad for him but felt bad for his parents and brother. We did have to go there bc we helped out with the mess it caused such as cleaning the refrigerator and staying there since we felt bad. Also having to pack and do other stuff. I was also very annoyed bc i had dropped off a bunch of my stuff at the cleaners in astoria for our vacation and i wasnt able to pick it up before the trip but oh well
