Our power went out last night....didnt come back on until 2am....NOT fun in the heat!
My fiance just called to tell me the same thing and to see if it was all right where I am. I can't believe all of five towns!

the power was out in my building since 9:40..... my bosses made us stay and at around 12:45 the security guy came in and asked us all to leave b/c he felt that it would be dangerous to stay in here any longer b/c the AC is out.....
WELL we get all excited to go and as we are about to leave BAM! the electricty turned back on.... we are the only people left in a 4 story building b/c everyone else left except my dumb bosses made us stay!![]()

My office was out so I left. I was waiting for the train and of course Cedarhurst got power again. I had to go back. I had already planned what I wanted to do with the rest of my day!!!

My parents live in the 5 Towns and they lost power at 1:15, and it's still out! That's an hour so far.
I offered to put them up in my place if they don't get it back by tonight![]()
My building has its own generator.. no power outages for me..

oh no that S*CKS i am so sorry. In 2006 there was a power outage in astoria for 9 days during a heatwave and that was horrible. You would think that after so many times of this happening they would fix the problems but they don't.
Hopefully it comes back on soon, ive been worried about this

Oh dear. My mom just called and said the power is out in the entire Five Towns Area. I called FH and his power is out in Lybrook also.
Be careful, drink lots of water girls!!!
the A train was out in queens for about an hour from 130 ish until about now.

I just read this and I wonder if it is back on, I just called my parents house in lynbrook and the answering machine picked up

ugh, don't remind me. DH and I try to forget but honestly, everytime since then that the weather gets as hot as it's been the past few days, we get so scared it's going to be like that again. That was AWFUL, we were miserable.![]()
