powers of attorney..

powers of attorney..

Does anyone know if when appointed to be a power of attorney...if when that person dies, there power dies also? They are not responsible for any debts afterwards in their own name right?

POA ends when the person dies.

you may be responsible...my mother was her sisters for awhile after my uncle passed away and after about 10 years my mother said she didn't want to be it anymore...and passed it over to her children (who were in their 40s at the time)

Unfortunately, I know the answer to this question.

Any loans, medical or credit card bills are annuled if the person in whos name they were issued dies. Copy of a death certifiate is required.
