prayers

ugh, so things really have been going well for us, everyday we say how lucky we are to have great jobs, an amazing house and health.

well this am, we found out that our community developer pulled out and sold our community which is only about 1/3 built. we have no clue what this means, if they will continue to build, if value will drop - we are praying that we dont loose out big on our home.

also, one of my best friends at work just got news that she may have breast cancer. she just cant catch a break, its one thing after another for her. she goes for a biopsy tomorrow

lastly, my poor twin sister. she recently found out that she has heart related issues which will one day require surgery and now ... issues which could interfere with fertility Im just bummed, happy new year

to make matters worse, we are identical twins. chances are that if she has it, I have it too. I am petrified to make a doctors appointment but know that I need to

Oh Karin I am so sorry to hear all of this. My mom and aunt had BC scares last year - I know how that feels. And your sister, how horrible Make the appointment please - you will feel better when you know where you stand.

I haven't had the best of luck myself lately - hope things pick up for both of us

I know - my grandmother had it too and my grandfather had another type of cancer - and one of my aunts died of brain cancer 10 years ago. it's soooo sad and i do feel like there is nothing we can do sometimes to stop from getting it in some way.

i read an article yesterday that their may be a cancer vaccine on the way the scientist who invented Gardisil (sp?) - also his last name ... has uncovered that HPV may also be a link to all other types of cancer. Maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel

I'm sorry Karin. One of my friends from work also just told me she has breast cancer, it's so scary. How did your sister find out she had this heart problem?

she is a vascular technologist so she has access to ultrasound etc. At the doctor, they heard a bruee (sp?) also a murmur so she was sent for other testing. She has defective valves and flow reflux which will one day need open heart surgery, valve replacement and maybe worse

She had horrible side pains on Christmas and thought it was either her ovary or apendix. She was about to go to the hospital but it got better. She has ultrasounds done and they found cycts and fibroids on both ovaries and in her uterus. It kills me, I cant even imagine how scary it is for her. I would give my heart, ovaries and uterus for her if she needed

Karin I am so sorry to hear all of this and many for you and your family.

I can't imagine what you sister must be feeling -- she is so young and that is a lot to take in at once. But on the positive side, she now can really get all her information, options, etc. She found both things early where she can monitor them and watch them and do what ever she can to stay healthy. I know it isn't much right now but it is something.

For your friend, I hope that she found it early too. And I hope it is just a scare. Unfortunately we live in an area with the highest breast cancer rates (SCARY!)

As for your home, I don't know what it means, but I know the development and it is beautiful and though it may seem doom and gloom now I am sure someone else will want to pick it up and finish the project even if it isn't right away.

And for you PLEASE go to the doctor. I know it is scary but it is better now then later. You have your DH to be strong for you and then you can be strong for you sister. Support is the best thing for everyone!

Very well said...my feelings, as well! And, yes, please don't wait to go to the doctor. I'm so sorry for your sister...I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: prayers

I will most definitely keep your sister in my thoughts. As for infertility issues, due to the fibroids and cyst, it may be harder for her to conceive but definitely not impossible. The best advice is to seek treatment now even if pregnancy is years away.
