PRAYERS NEEDED

My 54 year old aunt has been battleing Multiple Myeloma (bone cancer) for a little more than a year now... she's had a stem cell transplant and continues to get treatments, but her doctors told us yesterday that she is not responding well... all she can do is lay in bed and she has bed sores from it.. she is so thin... she used to be so active, happy, funny and loved life and especially her kids, my cousins who are 32, 30, 27 and 19... Her husband has done everything he possible can for her and my mom and her are best friends... she told my mom yesterday that she cant do it anymore and she's sorry but she's ready to go... i just dont know how my family is going to deal with this, it seems like everything is just going to fall apart and i just dont know what to do... i cant even explain to you what a saint she is.. she is definately one of God's chosen people... but i cant help but think that this is so unfair... im sorry to be a downer, i just need as much support as possible today and i know you girls are SO supportive...

I pray for you and your family to get through this... I'm so sorry to hear this, but the fact is that there is ALWAYS a chance at life. She can snap back at anytime.. Stay positive

im so sorry i know what you mean by its so unfair...my FH lost his grandfather a few months ago he wasnt even sick though...we lost him in 3 days he was such an amazing man..its always the ones who have been such great people who go the earliest..its so hard im sorry but you have to think to she wont be suffering anymore and for her to say that she must be alot worse than you think

It may be hard to hear this - but it's better for her to come to this stage and accept it, so she won't be suffering anymore. I know it's hard - I've seen the battle within my own family and it's not easy, just console one another and don't be afriad to talk about it with one another!

I went through basically the exact same thing about 5 years ago with my aunt who passed away from bone cancer... If you ever want to talk or just vent, feel free to FM me.

I'm so sorry for your aunt, and for you and your family. My grandfather passed away form bone cancer, and I remember my mother telling me how much he suffered. If she is telling your family she is ready to go , she probably has accepted or is coming to accept what is going to happen, and she doesn't wanna suffer anymore. Before my mother passed away from brain cancer, the woman from hospice told me that alot of times when patients say that, they are waiting to hear a response from their family member that it is ok, and that they understand that she doesn't wanna suffer annymore. They need to know that the family will be ok after they pass away, and not like they are letting the family down.
So, just try to be with her as much as you can.
