Thanks! I will let you all know!!! I am happy to say that we are going in first. So we have to be in the hospital at 6:00 am. Hopefully Patrick will sleep until we get in. He's not being taken till 7:30. They said it could take up to 2 1/2 hours! I'm not happy w/ that!! But, I know it's for the best.

Re: Prayers Needed for Patrick!

We're back! Unfortunately the Doctor extracted Patricks front 4 teeth on the top. It was hard to see him going into the O.R. I was not a happy camper. And as soon as he was out of view. I burst into tears. Only 1 parent was allowed to take him in the operarting room so, I let John do that. John came back & said that he was fine cried for all of 5 seconds & was sleeping. Patrick was in there for 2 hours. When we finally got to see him in the recovery room he was asleep in the hospital crib. And yes, Mommy cried alot more!! He looked so sore. And his gums were bleeding. It just broke my heart. We were in the recovery room for about an hour 1/2. Patrick slept alot. Once he took a few sips of juice we were able to take him home. He was very groggy. But, he is now feeling better & attempting to run around. He is constantly at the roof of his mouth. He notices the teeth gone. But, seems to be ok with it.
Good news I can make an appoitment in 2 1/2 weeks for him to get an impression made & he should have his fake bridge in 6 weeks. Just in time for his 3rd birthday!!!
Again ladies thanks for all your well wishes!!!
-Tracy

Oh poor mommy I'm glad he will be ok

I have a question - since he is only 3 and he will wear a bridge, what happens when his adult teeth come in? Do they push out the bridge? Just curious.

According to my SIL (How she would know this I have no idea) The bridge is hallow so the adult teeth will grow into it. I'm not sure if that's true but I can tell you definately in 2 1/2 weeks!

Re: Prayers Needed for Patrick! UPDATE!

So, his permanent teeth can/will still grow in??? That's sooooo great! I had an 'accident' in grammar school, a girl tripped me, and I fell on my face/teeth. My 2 front teeth are caps and it's been a TRAGIC experience to go through. One of them has a root canal and before we could afford these nice looking caps, one tooth was grey. It looked rotten and I got made fun of a lot.
If his permanent teeth will grow in, does he have to have the bridge? I'm sorry if that's a dumb question. I just know what I went through w/ all the dentists/impressions etc.... and just thinking of little Patrick.

His permanet teeth won't grow in for years! I don't want the lack of teeth change his face. And it would be alot easier for him to eat w/ teeth thne w/out. The impressions should take less then 5 min. For the most part he will not remember this expierence when he's older!! Thank-God!!!

Re: Prayers Needed for Patrick! UPDATE!

Tracy I'm sorry that he had his front teeth taken out but sounds like he's recuperating just fine!

Will the bridge be permanent or until his adult teeth come in?

Happy that the worst part is over!
