(Prayers & Readings) Am I the only one who

... likes only part of the prayers offered by the officiant and wants to edit them for the ceremony. I just feel like nothing fits perfectly.

My big old issues is with the 'giving away' part.

Ive been with my fiance for 6 years...away at college and on my own for 5 of those and i really have a problem with having my father 'give me away'

I'd like to change it to 'Who here supports the union between this man and this woman?' and all the parents or family can answer 'We do'

i think that if your church allows it definately edit it. Im more traditional so i didnt have many problems, but i did find certain parts where i was thinking is this really necessary. But truthfuly, i didnt really bother.
