Re: pre cana

It is basically pre-marital counseling. It covers basics such as the compatability of the couple, conflict resolution within marriage, and of course the principles of a Catholic marraige and family life.

It varies by parish. I unfortunately am not able to do my in-parish pre-cana bc of my FH's work schedule, but a married couple from my parish does hold 5 consecutive weeknight sessions in their home and it is free of charge. We have to go through the Diocese, so in our case we are going for one weekend, all day Saturday and all day Sunday and that fee is $250 plus a $50 fee for the FOCCUS test, which is a compatibilty test that shows you what issues may come up in your relationship and then allows you the opportunity to discuss them. But the fees and the locations all vary by parish.
