What should I expect?? We are meeting with out priest for the first time this Saturday and I have no idea what to say or do!!

is pre-cana with priest or with couples in the parish that you meet over several weeks with other couples? priest will ask about your relationship together, how religion fits in, may ask if you paln to raise children in catholic faith, etc. nothing to worry about

When you meet with the priest, he will tell you about pre cana. At least my priest did and he was very helpful in answering questions. Dont worry!! Hes gonna ask you basic stuff and personal questions but you have nothing to worry about! I was shaking in my pants but it went well.

My Pre-Cana isnt until Nov & its with other couples & its only 2 days 3 hrs each. THANK GOD!

i actually ended up liking it and so did FH. If you look on the 08 boards you'll see most girls were surprised that they liked it. THeres some you do once a week for an hour for about 6 weeks. But i did the 2 day one, it was friday which was just a little over an hour, they basically just did a mass.
Saturday it was 9-5 but got out at 4. It was like group theraphy hahaha. There were 25 couples and talked about many things in relationships: compromise, what annoys you about eachother, about in-laws and NOT letting them interfere with your relationship, you also take quizzes to see how well you know eachother. Well we answer it and exchange answers and see for ourselves, not something you share with everybody. We did about 2 or 3 of those types of exercises. The couple we had were great and talked alot about things they have gone through in marriage, the ups and downs and shared with us their advice. They even spoke about sex, children and things like that. It really did just focus on the relationship. What to expect in marriage, the good and bad parts and things like that.

Watch out bc if your a little too quiet he may direct questions to you! They did that with FH since I was pretty much doing all the talking. (what else is new ha ha)
Its no sweat though. They just ask you some pretty basic questions like dates you have in mind and if your baptized and where, etc. and explain about pre-cana and the process of getting married in the church

I'm still waiting to for my pre-Cana slot. But my friend told me that her and her husband were the only ones at the weekend retreat at her church. She said if she knew that was the case, she would've opted for the weekly sessions.
