The pre cana program through my church just contacted me yesterday and the days are really bad for us. It's 3 Tuesdays 7-9 and 1 Sunday mass. FH has karate on Tuesdays and I work on Tuesday evenings. I don't know what to do now...our church was only $75 and I know the others are a lot more. I don't know where to start looking. Where are you girls doing pre cana and about how much does it run? TIA

Re: Pre Cana
i am doing Pre Cana in Queens...I wanted to do it at the Douglaston location, however they were all booked up. So we went with one on the quiet side of Flushing. We are doing the 2 days, 1 Friday night, and then Sat from 9-5. It's costing us $195!!!! AHHH!

Re: Pre Cana
Do you have to live in Queens to do it through the Queens diocese? I think the if I go through the one in Rockville Center it's $300.

Re: Pre Cana
I believe that my church only charges $75 for non-parishoners (sp?) We did it on a weekend, one saturday and one sunday, ending with mass on Sunday. Try St. Patrick's in Bay Shore. FM me if you need more info.

Re: Pre Cana
We're doing Pre Cana at OLPH in Lindenhurst. Pre Cana is included in our church donation so I don't know what they charge for Pre Cana alone. Ours is 3 Thursdays (2hrs each) and 3 Saturdays (2hrs each). HTH

Re: Pre Cana
I was originally doing it through the church but it was the weekend before FH has to take the bar exam so we ended up paying and booking it through the Diocese...its 300 and through our church it was included in the donation.

The next one for St pats in Bayshore is in Feb and then they do not have another until after my wedding in May so if you want to go to that one I would contact them asap.

Check above for information on Pre-Cana in Queens. There is no Queens Diocese; Catholics always fall under the Brooklyn Diocese.
You can also called the Pre-Cana Main Office (in Dougloston) and see if you meet the requirements for financial aid for Pre-Cana like we did. Otherwise it's $195 per couple; more if you do the weekend retreat (which is optional).

Re: Pre Cana
I am getting worried about Pre-Cana too. I have to look into it soon. I work late nights and Saturdays. Is anyone doing it through St. Rocco's in Glen Cove?

I did pre cana in Sept - Oct. It was the same night 4 tuesdays and 2 sundays- it only cost $60. We could have done it through Rockeville Centre on the weekends but we didnt want to spend $300! Where is your church? Mine is in Commack.
