Has anyone signed up for it or gone yet? I just signed up for the first weekend in May at Immaculate Conception. We figured we would do it now and get it done with.

Is yours just one weekend in total??? Or do you have to go multiple times??

We are doing the Friday nite (7:30-9:30pm)
and Satuday all day 9-5

Thats it.
But what is Foccus? We werent told about that?????

FOCCUS is the compatibility 'test' that you and FH take. I believe it is required in all Catholic churches. I'm not getting married at your church - I'm getting married at St. Pat's in Bay Shore... but we were told that we could do Pre-Cane at any church we wanted. This is really impt to me since I'm moving to Florida in July for med school... Do you know if your church would allow others to do their Pre-Cana there?? I'd love to go to a one-weekend Pre-Cana but in most churches there are at least four meetings so your situation would be ideal.

I am not doing it at my church. Its at the Immacualte Conception in Douglaston. It used to be a college and now part of the Brooklyn Diocese is there. I cant see why you couldnt do it there. There are other churches that have it on Fri and Sat. You can sign up on the website , http://dioceseofbrooklyn.org/

If you are getting married at a church in the RVC diocese, you can take pre-cana at the Immaculate Conception Center. The only thing you would have to do is talk to your church about doing Foccus. Foccus can also be done online.

Iwonder why each church is different?

Re: Pre-Cana

depends on the pastor and how they feel. i think some say wait so they dont have to risk putting people through the class who may not actually make it down the aisle. at six months i think the number of people who dont get married decreases a lot as compared with a year

The lady said a month and yeah we took it a month ago today I think. If I dont hear anything back I am going to have FH call the chruch since he isnt doing anything productive during the day.

and dont worry its not a pass or fail thing
