Pre Cana

Pre Cana

Tell me all out it. We are doing it once a week at someone's house for 6 weeks. Did anyone else do it this way? What was it like? What do you talk about?
Thanks!

Re: Pre Cana

We just finished this. I have to admit I really enjoyed it. Each week was a different 'topic'- like communication and decision making, personalities, spirituality, sexuality (don't worry- you don't talk about your favorite position- more like how do you handle birth control and future family planning), ect. The couple hosting would bring up a question and we'd do different exercises that pertained to the topic and we would go around and discuss it as a group. They encouraged that everyone participate, but we were never asked to go beyond what we were comfortable discussing with the group.

I thought the process was fun and beneficial. Throughout the time, we were asked to think about and discuss situations and challenges we may come across in life that you normally wouldn't think of. It gets you talking to each other on a different level. Each week, FH and I would go out on a little date after pre-cana and talk about some of the things from that week. Post pre-cana we still have our 'Date Night' and we made some new friends from the group as well!

It really is a great experience- don't sweat it

Re: Pre Cana

Does anyone have any information on Precana? Our church doesn't do it so they told us to go elsewhere for it & the # I called told me it was $300 for a 14hr weekend.

That sounds crazy

Ours was $75 for four hours on a Saturday. It was really entertaining and the priest and deacons who ran it were fun! We did ours at St Rosalie in Hampton Bays.
