Hey girls! My friend just came back from the 'weekend retreat' of pre cana. She had mostly all good things to say about it. A big plus was that it was all over in one weekend! Anyway, I am now thinking this is the route we will be taking. I was curious if any of you were thinking about doing the weekend pre cana?? I came up with what I thought was a good idea... Maybe we can get a group of us, and take it all together! Thoughts?

Re: pre cana
We are actually just doing ONE Saturday from 8am to 6pm which actually ends with a mass. I'm happy that we won't have to go back and forth!

Re: pre cana
I completed precana in 4 hours on a Saturday morning with a very nice man. If anyone wants his details please FM me. I was dreading it but we both really enjoyed it.

I recommend calling them although I think they hold it once a year.

Re: pre cana
I have to do interfaith pre cana and all the parishes around here don't have it I have to go to Douglaston or Brooklyn so I have to go on a Friday night from like 7 to 9 and then a Saturday morning from 9 to 5
If anyone knows of a better one please let me know. TIA

Re: pre cana
I thought about doing the weekend but since our parish offers the traditional (once a week for 6 weeks) Pre Cana we are doing that. We live only a few blocks from the Church and want to be connected with the parish so we figured we would go for it

Re: pre cana
We are def not doing a religious ceremony, and are unsure of who will be our officiant.... will any reverend require precana? or is that only if you are doing a 'church' wedding? Our schedules are so busy, I don't know how I'm going to plan this wedding as it is, so to add one more thing that we have to do will be insane, but we will do what we have to do!
