Even though you are in the same Diocese every church is different. I am in the same Diocese (St. Raymonds) and we had to take it with them. Couldn't go to another church.

Honestly Focus and Pre-Cana were not bad at all.

Focus was a test -- we took it one night and then went back to the couples house (who happen to be friends of my parents who I have known my whole life) to discuss it.

PreCana for us was 6 classes one night a week. We happen to be in the class with two sets of friends so we ended up having a good time.

I almost had the same problem. I live in CT and we couldnt take anything on LI that fit our schedules. But in CT they take a bunch of classes so I wasn't sure if any would be considered 'pre-cana'. It was such a pain bc I had to call the Diocese of Hartford to get some info for the Diocese of Rockville Centre and then they approved it. But we still had to do the FOCCUS online and make a trip down to speak with our priest about the results.

aw i am so sorry to hear that.. if you are looking for a quick pre-cana i know the one i am doing at a church in douglaston is a friday night and saturday. www.pre-cana.org
