Long story short - FH is divorced and in the process of getting an anullment (has been a year in the making). We were waiting to sign up for pre cana til we knew if annullment came through.
It hasn't yet, but we expect it to. Meanwhile, we are getting closer and closer to December, and I think we need to sign up for pre cana NOW so we have it booked.
We live in CT. Does anyone know of any 1 day pre canas, or a really good, non-boring pre cana that is 2 days but moves fast, that they think we can get into this fall?
I am freaking out.
TIA!!!!

Re: Pre Cana - HELP!!!!
I don't know if there's a one day session since the whole course is broken up into 2 sessions and often times 3. You have have to do it over the course of 2 weekends or if you're lucky a weekend. If you're getting married in NY, check the archdioses schedule and if that doesn't work, your priest should be able to work something out.HTH

Infant Jesus RC Church in Port Jeff does pre-cana over a Friday night from like 7-10 and then a full Saturday the next day. You could take the ferry over from CT.
I wouldn't say that their pre-cana 'moved really fast' and it certainly got boring at points -- I think you'll be hard pressed to find a pre-cana that is 100% entertaining and exciting. It's not really the point of doing it... it's to listen and participate in discussions. Some are fun, some are not.
The wife of our host couple had been married before. I'm not sure if was annulled or ended in divorce but I thought I'd mention that.

Our lady of Lourdes (Massapequa Park) has a 2-day (one weekend) program. I haven't gone through it yet, though.

Re: Pre Cana - HELP!!!!
you can do your pre-cana in CT. i did mine there since we live here too. if you call the family life office located in hamden. they have a listing of all the pre-cana in the state. we did ours in madison, it was one day, six hours, pretty painless. the only thing that they don't offer is FOCCUS. so we did that online through the diocese of rockville centre.
fm me if you did more details.

Re: Pre Cana - HELP!!!!
Unfortunately I know my church only does Pre Cana for those getting married in the church and won't allow you to sign up until the annulment papers are in hand. I only know that because he asked us about it.

So was ours, we took it in Nov. or Dec., I think they offer it pretty frequently. Call the rectory and see. Ours was kind of fun too...

Re: Pre Cana - HELP!!!!
Thanks for all of your advice.
Can anyone tell me more about what FOCUS is? I have heard of it, but our priest didn't say anything about it when we met. I know we have to do it, but I don't know what it is.
