How far in advance do most churches usually have the couple complete pre-cana? Just curious because my church has not contacted us about it yet (we sent forms in to be included in the next session)... Just wanted to know if I should be worried...

I was just called a few weeks ago and they set us up to start Pre Cana in March... my wedding date is 9/8/07

we only have one class left (the full day) and that's March 3rd. Our wedding is in May.

I am assuming that it would have to depend on the church and the diocese it belongs to. My church does their own pre-cana, which is a one day thing and if we decided that we didn't want to go to that, we would have to go to the others that are run by the Diocese of RVC.
Maybe you should go stop by the rectory and double-check with them because they told me that some of the classes fill up fairly fast.

My church recommended that we do a focus session too but I dont think we are going to do it.. We live about 40 min from my parents church....

Yup. My date is 8/24, but am so glad to get it out of the way.
My church does this pre-cana almost as a courtesy to the couples because otherwise, the diocese of RVC runs pre-cana and they last a little bit longer.
You should ask and see if there are any one shot deals you can go to.

I called my church and they gave me the number of the couple that does it and she said I wouldn't be called until the fall, which I figured, but we have to get it in before the summer for scheduling purposes so we are going through the Dioceses and are completing our FOCUS in April and Pre-Cana in May.
