pre cana ?'s

Am I supposed to wait for them to call me? I booked our church about 2 months ago, and I haven't heard anything. Also, what is that foccus thing? Am I supposed to call someone for that? any help please??

My church is in a different doicese from yours, but we have to sign up fro precana on our own. When we booked the church, they gave us the info on how to sign up and we have to go ahead and do that... no one is going to call us to remind us or sign us up. I would call the church and ask about it, they should be able to tell you how to sign up and ideally when you should go.

I'd call. Our precana people didn't have our paperwork because our priest forgot to give it to them. My FH called and luckily we got the last spot left in the session.

my church told us to contact them sometime in Nov to talked about registering for pre-cana and going over some things for the actual ceremony. I am waiting for FH to contact his old teacher (the priest that will be marrying us) so we can meet up for dinner one night and discuss some things before we go to the church.

I would just call the church. I think most churches have a few a year and your wedding isn't until November so I wouldn't stress.

The Foccus test is a 189 question test that assesses different aspects of your relationship. Our priest told us it wasn't pass/fail and the results didn't mean anything toward you getting married. Its supposed to be a conversation starter and deeper look at the inner workings of you relationship. There are some weird questions like, 'I'm comfortable being naked in front of my parter?' etc. Overall, its not too bad and it does show you spots you could improve on.

My church told me to register for on through the Diocese of Rockville Center site, which we did. Upon doing that, we were emailed the FOCCUS stuff, since FOCCUS is included in our 2-day Pre-Cana.

And you are getting married before us? We registered a month ago and didn't even get in to our first choice date.

I also meet with the Chruch 2 months ago. I have not got anything in the mail yet. I am going to call today to follow up. I will let you know what they say. My wedding isnt till April 2012, so I still have some time.

Hmm I would call the Church. I know sometimes you sign up through the Church and sometimes you sign up through the Diocese.

Whoever you sign up through will probably explain the FOCCUS procedure. Some areas have you take it online and some in person.

My church sent us the registration application, but it appears as if every parish is different. Call the rectory to be sure! My parish (HNM in VS) only offers it twice a year so it is best to get in contact ASAP!

I called and emailed about it. We did foccus and precana EARLY. my suggestion. call and find out when they are and sign up ASAP... seats usually fill up fast.

We called a few months ago and they told us we don't need to worry about it until April and they would send us more info as the spring gets closer. But I never heard of FOCCUS - what exactly is that? They did not mention anything about it or send us any info on it...

Typically you have to call and set all of this up with your church. You dont' have to go to your church if another offers one at a more convienent time.

Some Precana's include focus in it so it's not something seperate.
