Pre-Cooking Sweet Potatoes HELP!

Sorry, I tried posting on the recipe board w/ no response & I need an answer tonight.

I'm making sweet potato (w/ marshmellow)--yams from a can & I mashed them & added 'stuff', however, I wanted to know IF/SHOULD I pre-cook tonight 30 minutes or so---will I still have to cook for 20 minutes or so on THanksgiving to heat up (& later brown marshmellows) or are the yams in the can, technically pre-cooked anyway?

Sorry I'm so clueless!!!!!!!!!

no...cook it tonight, then when you warm it, add the marshmellows...if you do the marshmellows now, when you reheat, they pretty much melt.disintegrate

Thanks....I guess my Q is, on Thanksgiving how long will it take to 'cook' in the oven?

If I only keep in oven a minute or so for marshmellows it will not heat up throughout.

I have it in a non-microwave pan.

I guess I'm concerned b/c will be at bf's house & I know the oven will be high real estate that day.
